aka your favorite photographer in Charleston

I'm super excited to connect with you here! :)

I'm a local Charleston, SC photographer + mom of 3 boys living in West Ashley. You can usually find me out stroller walking with our little August, at the parks (soccer mom here!), or on my Peloton. I specialize in photography sessions of all kinds, eliminating guesswork in finding a different professional to fit each aspect of your life. Whether you're looking to capture family moments, lifestyle shots for your blog, or working with clients to make their house look it's best - I'm your girl! I also love working with fellow photographers + business owners on photo editing and graphic design needs.

I was born & raised in Indiana and met my husband Marshall while doing an internship in Myrtle Beach, SC. We moved to Minneapolis to be closer to his family and started our own. Fast forward 10 years, we collectively got sick of the snow, craved a slower life, and adventure. We moved to Charleston in 2016 and couldn't be happier. After all, it is heaven on earth. We still call Minneapolis home, and go back to work and play as often as possible!

Are you named after anyone?

I sure am! I am named after both of my grandmothers. My maternal grandma's middle name was Lee, and my paternal grandma's middle name was Ann. This also is why I spell my name with a capital 'A' and no space!

What's your favorite smell?

My ultimate favorite smell is the smell of tomatoes on a vine. The vine has a fresh, earthy, amazing scent that is so calming to me. My Dad's mom had a small tomato garden, and it must have been pretty special to me because I take the time to sniff the vines to this day!

Right or left?

Both! I'm left-handed but I do most things like a righty. I eat left-handed, write left-handed and play sports right-handed.

Sweet or Unsweet?

Team UNSWEET! Back in our Myrtle Beach days, Marshall and I both worked at Margaritaville. I'll never forget brewing the large industrial size teas. We mixed in 2 big bags of sugar per batch of sweet tea. I used to love sweet tea then, but now cringe if someone gives me sweet tea by mistake!

What's your spirit animal?

Honestly, I'm pretty sure I have at least two — spiders and dragonflies. Spiders are spiritually known for feminine energy, creativity, patience, and being highly receptive. Dragonflies carry wisdom and symbolize light, hope, positivity, and change. I've come to notice that spirit animals may come and go depending upon the season of life to deliver messages and guidance that we need in any given moment.

If you could eat anything right now, what would it be?

PIZZA! I know, it's so terrible health-wise. But so delicious. My favorite spot in Charleston is D'Alessandro's Pizza. In Minneapolis, you have to check out Galactic Pizza in uptown.

2022, edited to add: while the above is still SO accurate, these days I prefer green smoothies, and all the kombucha.
