Frequently Asked (and answered) Questions
What types of photography
sessions do you offer?
I offer photography sessions of all kinds, so that you can take the guesswork out of finding a professional to fit each aspect of your life. Feel free to take a look around my galleries to see examples of my work! Session types include portraits (headshots, family portraits, lifestyle photography, beach sessions, engagements, and specialized on-location sessions at amazing places like Drayton Hall Plantation or Magnolia Gardens), real estate, events (including live music, local events, and weddings), and product photography. I have experience in all of these areas and can't wait to help you with your photography needs.
We are staying downtown Charleston.
Where are the best photography session spots?
Downtown Charleston is a welcome host to endless photography session spots. No matter where you're staying, it's likely we would find a variety of beautiful locations to snap some photos—just outside your door. Some of my favorites are: Rainbow Row, Waterfront Park, The Battery, White Point Garden, Colonial Lake, and many of the side streets around the French Quarter.
How do you handle rescheduling if it rains?
Don't worry! There are no fees or lost deposits associated with rescheduling due to inclement weather. If it becomes necessary, we can reschedule—no problem!
What is the best time of day for my photography session?
The absolute best times of day for photography are sunrise and sunset. If you schedule a sunrise session, we'll want to meet on location a few minutes to sunrise and utilize the first hour of the day. If you're someone who likes to sleep in, a sunset session will be the one for you! I usually recommend sessions during golden hour. If you like photos with rich light and naturally hazy effects, this is for you.
Don't get me wrong…we can actually schedule a photography session at ANY time of day! Say what? Yes, it's so possible. You may hear a lot of photographers talking about mid-day light being horrible for photos, which is absolutely true. I say the same thing, and I agree with them. However, if you plan to do your photo session downtown, there are plenty of spots with shade where we can successfully capture your session without the harsh sunlight washing you out.
